It’s the busiest shopping day of the year. We spend millions clicking on those ‘unmissable’ deals from major retailers or braving the battle on the high street to pick up cheap gifts for our loved ones or treats for ourselves. But this year, we are asking you to buck the trend and embrace our Anti-Black Friday campaign.
It’s totally understandable that we want to make the most of the host of bargains on offer. Christmas is an expensive time of the year, and those bills can soon add up. That’s why Black Friday is so popular in the first place. But, to compete, smaller independent retailers end up paying you to take their product. This is why we see so many small business go under. This is why we are boycotting Black Friday and rewarding our loyal customers in other ways.
We think that choosing a Christmas gift for your friends and family should be about more than what is cheap. However, we understand the festive season is a pricey one. So, here’s our guide on how to shop smart, guilt-free and independent this year.
Our high streets and village centres are full of independent shops and boutiques which are offering their unique product range to people like us. Every time a till rings, it makes the day for that independent business owner. That doesn’t happen with Amazon. Shopping independent also supports a local economy – for every £1 spent with an independent business, between 50p and 70p goes right back into that local economy.
You don’t have to go to your local high street to support an independent business either. You can love your local from your device too. More and more customers are shopping online, on the go, from our smart devices. Independent businesses, like ourselves, can be found there alongside our bigger counterparts. The difference is, whether you speak to the owner or the part-time accountant, we have a passion for what we sell. We have also always known the personalised service is essential which comes as part of the deal regardless of your average spend with us.
Mrs Wilson say- ‘ I’ve been using the products for the last 3 months for relief of muscle and joint pain but also for general wellbeing. I like the fact that I am using products which are 100% natural and know it will do no harm to my body or interfere with other medication. I definitely feel a difference in using the products and would highly recommend them to my friends and family.’
It’s a bit of a cliché, but people like us who run small businesses really do love what we do.
This isn’t just a job to us; it’s a way of life.
We know our product range inside and out. We can make recommendations for each and every customer, so they find the perfect product for themselves or another. We go that little bit further to ensure every purchase is a happy one. It is also a cost-effective business measure – it can be up to 25 times more expensive to acquire a new customer than it is to keep a current one, so believe us when we say that we enjoy getting to know our customers and that our service is second to none.
It’s only big companies and national chains that can offer you substantial discounts, but that is not always the case.
While we are on the Anti-Black Friday train, it doesn’t mean that our regular customers miss out. For those that purchase regular products on an ongoing basis they get a discount for their repeat orders. Others get mystery gifts once in a while, while our new customers often get samples of our other products.
Here at Lorem, we’re proud to be an independent business and are grateful for every for one of our amazing customers. Our Hampshire-based company offers a unique and exclusive product range that makes fantastic natural gifts for all the family
So, whilst we may be Anti-Black Friday, we’re definitely not anti-value for money.
